Crossing Hollow Country is a post zombie apocalypse novel.

Ten years after the world fell silent, the wilderness has reclaimed what humanity left behind. Zane has learned to live with that silence. Alone in the mountains, he hunts, forages, and keeps out of sight. The living dead still roam below, but it’s the living he fears most. Those desperate enough to kill for a handful of food or a warm coat.

When smoke from a stranger’s fire creeps into his secluded valley, Zane knows his time is up. Packing only what he can carry, he leaves the home that has kept him alive and sets out on a dangerous journey northwest toward the high country of Colorado, searching for a place where he can start over.

But the road west is anything but empty. From ruined highways to forests haunted by predators both natural and unnatural, every mile tests his skill and resolve. Against his will, Zane rescues a spirited young woman and finds himself responsible for more than his own survival. Each choice draws him deeper into fragile new bonds—and toward a destiny as reluctant protector of a growing band of fellow survivors.
