Deal With The Fae

Aria thought her biggest problems were getting ditched by her friend at an end of semester party, drunk college boys that didn’t take no for an answer, and having to go help out on her family’s ranch for the summer.
Attacked by something she couldn’t believe, and saved by a voice in her head after striking a bargain she couldn’t comprehend, Aria learns that when the supernatural are involved, help always comes with a price.
Aria is swept into a world hidden beneath her own, one of gleaming halls, dangerous beauty, and rules that can snare the unwary. What started as survival becomes far more complicated as Aria learns this new world isn’t just politics and power. It’s also duty, love, and secrets sharp enough to cut.

Content warning, story includes two graphic sex scenes, and graphic violence.

Chapter 9: The Rescue

“Déjà vu.” I mumbled as I opened my eyes and saw the pale blue velvet curtains of Lysandra’s room.

I closed my eyes again and rolled over, intending to go back to sleep, but my arm brushed against someone.

I opened my eyes again and for the first time in days, relaxed. Lysandra was there, asleep in bed next to me. The wounds on her face had all closed, though there were still angry scars where they had been. The dried blood had been wiped away.

“You panicked when we tried taking you to your room. Even unconscious, you did not want to be away from her.” Fiora said.

Chapter 8: The Plan

Out of everything I’d experienced so far, entering a shimmering mist in the air in southern Ireland and exiting it in northern Morocco was the one that really caused the knowledge that magic existed to sink in.

Once the mist, a way according to Sidney, dissipated behind me, the clearing darkened. I stood there for a minute letting my eyes adjust to the darkness and listening for any unusual sounds around me.

Once my night vision returned, I returned my iron dagger to its sheath on my belt and shouldered the hikers pack Fiora had given me.

Chapter 7: Attacked

“Are you sure you want to do this?” Sèadna asked as she entered my rooms, with Fiora coming in behind her.

I waited for Fiora to lock the door before responding.

“Of course.” I said.

Sèadna sat down across from me at the table and set the tome she almost always carried with her on the table between us.

“I’m glad. None of Elara’s holdings match what you saw, but her brother has a manor in the hills above Tangier in Morocco that fits the description.” She said, opening the book to a hand-drawn map of the area.

Chapter 6: Resolve

“Lady Aria?” Fiora said as she opened the door to the bathing room.

“Just Aria, please Fiora.” I said, long past the point of being embarrassed. “What can I do for you?”

I watched as she entered the room the rest of the way, shutting the door behind her. Once she was sure it was shut, she sat down on the small bench next to the tub.

“Is it true?” She asked, hesitantly.
